Happy 10th Birthday Kianna!

I can not believe that Kianna is 10 years old. Where has the time gone? Since her birthday fell on a Saturday this year, we started the day with breakfast at Denny's.
The girls love taking selfies.
Pam and Jodi met us and it was a fun way for Kia to start the day.
We shopped and headed home to set up for the party.
Kianna decided to do an m&m party. She found a picture of a cake she liked. Aunt Pam showed her how to use cake decorating tools and she made this cake!
Kianna chose to invite a few friends to sleep over. She also want Vincent to come. He arrived in the afternoon and joined the girls for swimming
They all had fun in the pool.
Kianna created a lot of games.
They did races carrying m&m's with chopsticks.
They had pizza for dinner and then cake. Vincent went home around 9:00
The girls got into their pajamas and made a fort in the family room. They put on a movie and were all asleep by midnight.

Another First Day of School!

Summer starts early in Arizona and we go back to school in August. Tuesday, August 12th was the first day of school in our district. The girls were excited to see their friends again. Caeli is in 8th grade and Kianna is in 4th grade. How can that be possible?

On Sunday I took the girls school shopping at Fashion Square Mall. They were excited to discover that Stefanie Scott, who plays Lexi on Ant Farm was there. They waited in line to meet her. She posed for pictures and gave them each an autographed picture.

Surfing in Phoenix

Caeli spent Tuesday night with her friend Kaila. The next day her mom took Caeli, Kaila and her brother to a new fun place that opened downtown.
It is called Surfing on Central. They have a huge wave sinulator that allows people to learn how to surf.
The kids started out body surfing and had fun.
They quickly figured out how to stand and surf. Caeli had so much fun!

The girls loved all the rides. The swings were a huge hit.
The Wild West town was fun.
We ate at The Grizzly Lodge.
Waiting for the Pny Express Ride
We went on bumper cars and saw an ice show.

We ate lunch on the Lido Deck
The girls were so excited to go on a cruise.
The weather was beautiful and it was so delightful on deck.
Caeli and Kianna changed into swim suits and checked out the pool.
We attended the life boat drill and unpacked in our cabin.
We watched the ship take off from our balcony. It was cold and felt so good to us after leaving 100 degree temperatures. /the girls put on sweatshirts and got blankets.
Caeli tried coffee for the first time and loved it!

The ship docked at Catalina Island and we took a tender ashore. The town is so cute and we shopped in the shops.
The have a small beach area and we loved going in the water.

The ship docked in Ensenada early and we went into town.
The girls shopped and got their hair braided.
We had lunch back on the ship, swam and played miniature golf.
We enjoyed another delicious dinner in the dining room.
Kianna loves when the waiters make animals for her out of napkins,

The girls changed and we went to a Fiesta on the Lido Deck.

Thursday, July 31st

The last day is a Fun day at sea. The weather was cooler, but it was beautiful by the pool. The girls loved watching the ice carving and Hairy Chest Contest.
Kianna was at a perfect age, she made friends and went off. That left Mom with time to relax!
We went to a comedy show before dinner.
After dinner the waiters brought out two birthday cakes. We sat with a family from San Diego and their daughter was turning 10 a few days before Kianna. They sang happy birthday to both of them.
Every night Kianna went to the room to see which towel animal they left on the bed.

We were sad to have to pack and leave our luggage outside the door.
