Easter 2014

Saturday evening we colored Easter Eggs. The girls enjoyed all the colors.
Kianna had fun decorating all the eggs with stickers.

Easter morning the girls opened their gifts and hunted for eggs.
The weather has been warm and we spent the afternoon by the pool.
Kianna got a float that looks like a shark took a bite out of it.
 Relaxing!
My friend Kiki joined us for the day. We had a wonderful dinner and bunny cake for desert.

3rd Grade Happenings

April is always a crazy month at school. The girls take AIMS tests and it is science month.
The elementary school holds their annual science fair. Each child has to conduct an experiment and use the scientific method. Kianna decided to do an experiment to see if your eyes influence your taste buds. She mixed food coloring into two glasses and left the third one natural.
She then tested 20 kids between 6 and 13 to see if they could tell what they were drinking. The older kids all knew it was sprite in each cup, but the younger kids got the red and green cups wrong.
She presented her display board yesterday.
The third grade has been reading the book "Alice's adventures In Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll as part of their core knowledge curriculum. They finished the book and celebrated with The Mad Hatter's Tea Party. The kids all dressed as their favorite character from the book. This is our white rabbit.

Spring Break 2014

The girls love Spring Break. A week off from school, sleeping in and fun things to do. Kia got off school at 11:30 on Friday, March 21st. Caeline was off at 2:40. Jodi is also on break, so I was able to work the beginning of the week, but took Thursday and Friday off.
Saturday we all went bowling. The lanes were not crowded and the girls had a great time.
It was a fun time for all.
Sunday was a beautiful, warm day and we headed to a park in Anthem.
We ate lunch by a pond and fed the ducks.
Caeli and Kianna walked all over and had pictures taken.
 It was a fun day.
They even got ice cream from a vendor selling in the park.
Kianna brought her skooter with her and had so much fun.
The next few days were filled with doctor appointments. The girls went to the movies and saw friends.
On Wednesday afternoon, we drove to Flagstaff.
Friday morning we drove to the Grand Canyon. We took the tour buses to the different stops.
I was the only one who had ever been there. The girls thought it was beautiful and loved the hiking that we did.

Saturday morning we left Flagstaff early. We drove through Oak Creek Canyon and stopped in Sedona and Jerome. It was a wonderful break for all of us.
