Mariah and Caeli did a photo shoot.
I love these crazy girls!

I took Friday off and we went shopping. The girls love Desert Ridge.
Caeli took Kianna to a candy store called It's Sugar.

Those who stayed home

While Mariah and I were in Philadelphia, Aunt Jodi and Aunt Pam watched Caeli and Kianna. Pam picked them up from school on Friday and Caeli had dance rehearsal. After they went to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner
They had pizza and salad bar for dinner. They played games and discovered they are too old for most of the things there.
Caiti works there and they were excited to see her and spend some time with her.
Saturday morning the girls made piggie pancakes for their aunts. Kianna loves to cook and finds all these fun things on You Tube.
In Philadelphia there were snow flurries and in Phoenix the temperature was in the 90's. The girls put on bathing suits and went in the pool for the first time this year.
They didn't stay in very long, but had a lot of fun.
After dinner Caeli made a cake for dessert.
On Sunday they did laundry and went to see the movie "Parental Guidance". Kianna started running a temperature (it reached 105 degrees) and took it easy. Caeli had homework to do. The girls were happy that Mom and Mariah were coming home.

Philadelphia Workshop

The Manhattan Dance Project invited Mariah to come to Philadelphia and assist at a workshop they were doing. Mariah and I flew to Philadelphia last Friday afternoon.
We arrived at 10:00 that night and took the SEPTA to the hotel. We checked in and after eating a late dinner went to bed.
We were up early and after breakfast walked to the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. The workshop was held there. Mariah danced in every class they had and then performed her solo in the show that evening.
It was an amazing day for her!
Bill Hotaling and his wife Leah own the dance studio that the girls go to. Mariah loved helping in his classes.
Todd Shanks teaches Tap, Hip-hop, and Contemporary. Ryan Kasprzak teaches Tap and Theater dance.
Michael Vernon teaches Ballet. His classes are amazing.
Mariah got to know the other two assistants. They are from the east coast.
Sunday afternoon we had to head to the airport and fly home. It was an amazing weekend that Mariah will always remember!

Oh no...

Caeli loves school and always tries her best. Last week the sixth grade was divided into teams and had a kickball tournament. Caeli was running toward the base and someone was blocking her. That didn't stop her, she went right into the boy, who was wearing a football shirt with built in shoulder pads. Her left arm took the hit. As soon as she was picked up we knew something was wrong. I met her at the urgent care center and they took x-rays. We thought there was a fracture, but it turned out to be a very bad sprain. She was put in a sort cast and a sling and after four or five days, felt much better.

Count Down

The girls performed at Count Down last year and enjoyed it. They wanted to bring their solos this year. The only problem is that it is in Apache Junction. The girls were on two different days so we had to make the hour and a half drive twice!

Mariah performed on Friday evening. We left right after school and hit a lot of traffic. After she danced we went and ate some dinner and went back for awards. We got home at 11:00 that night. Saturday was a free day from dance which worked well.
Simday was Caeli's turn . We did not have to check in until 11:30. She was one of the last to perform in her section and awards were soon after.
Jenni is the director at the dance studio.
Caeli's friend Anna came with us and got to see Caeli dance.
When we left the competition we went to Rainforest Cafe for lunch. Kianna had never been ther and loved all the animals and the rain and thunder.
Lunch was delicious and we had such a nice time.

The girls are growing up so fast.
