RAINBOW CONNECTION... Early Saturday morning we headed to Mesa for a dance convention. The girls met the director and other dancers backstage and got ready.
Caeline was the first to perform. She did an amazing job on her Solo. She was awarded a Platinum trophy and was 9th overall in her age division. (All solo and group pictures are from the last competition. Same girls, dance and costumes, different back drop)

Caeli dances as a music box dancer.
She loves this dance!
She looked so pretty on stage.
Kianna's pre-dance company group performed "Grease". They were all adorable as Danny and lots of Sandies. They were awarded a Platinum trophy and came in 9th place.
Around noon the award ceremony took place for all the solos 5 -8 and large group numbers.

After lunch the small groups performed and solos for ages 9 - 11. The first group was the Petites. Caeline performed "Beat It'.
It is a very precise dance and they all look so cute. They received a platinum trophy and came in 3rd place in their age division.
Mariah performed in three numbers and had only minutes to change. The first number was a new Jazz dance called "Vanity". They were award a platinum trophy.
Shelby, Mariah, Sophia, Bela, and Nikki work so well together.
Their next number was a modern dance called "Life Doesn't Frighten Me". They received a platinum trophy and came in 6th place.
(only five of the Juniors were able to attend Rainbow Connection)

The last group dance was "Child's Play" It is a haunting version of Children's songs. They dance with a playpen and act as little girls.
It is a beautiful number and received a platinum trophy.

Mariah had about an hour until she performed her solo.
She is a very strong dancer. This dance starts out slow and keeps getting faster and faster.
She jumps, leaps and throws herself to the ground.
She received a platinum trophy.

Finally, about 8:00 the dancers took the stage for the award ceremony.
Mariah was chosen to help with the POT OF GOLD.
The pot is filled with prizes for the dancers. There were stuffed animals, shirts, Frisbees, balls, coins to purchase items at the sales booth.
Mariah and another dancer threw the items to all the other dancers.
She had so much fun.

EIGHT YEARS AGO TODAY... January 21, 2002

This was taken on the morning that I met Caeli. It was a day that changed my life forever. I became her mother in the blink of an eye, and it was both the hardest and the best day of life.

Now, 8 years later Caeli has blossomed into a sweet, happy, spirited, loving and caring person who loves dancing, books, riding her bicycle, playing at the park, vacations, her sisters, spending time with family and snuggle time with her mom.

Caeli, I am so lucky to be your mother! You bring our family so much joy. I will never forget the first moment I held you... and I knew that I was always meant to be your mom and you were always meant to be my daughter, Forever! I love you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAM... The girls love to help Aunt Pam celebrate her birthday. We met after school and work and headed down town. We went to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.
The best part was when the waiter brought out a Brownie Sundie desert and announce her birthday. Then we crossed the street to US Airways Center.
Kianna was thrilled to attend her first basketball game. The girls loved all the action and watching the dancers.
At the beginning of the game, they announced a group of kids who had won the honor of being "High Five Kids". Mariah was so surprised to see her friend Sidney on the screen.
The Suns played the New Jersey Nets and won!
We had so much fun!
Happy Birthday Pam!
