UNCLE JERRY...August 27, 1923 - January 28, 2008. We just received word that my favorite Uncle passes away yesterday. He lived in California and was a special part of our childhood. Jerry was my Dad's youngest brother. He had a warm spirit and kind heart and was always so much fun to be around. He is survived by his four children and 7 grandchildren. We all will miss him so much. (This picture was taken in October 1999, when Jerry came to Phoenix for my Dad's funeral. He is blowing bubbles for Mariah who was 1)

DISNEY ON ICE... We took the girls to see Disney On Ice "Princess Wishes" this week. Kianna had no idea what we were doing. When the show started and Ticker Bell came out, her eyes got big and her mouth opened. She never took her eyes off the show and squealed with excitement. When she saw Cinderella she waved and blew kisses. She is at the perfect age for these shows. Kianna said that Ariel was her favorite Princess. Mariah and Caeline enjoyed the show, but it isn't as magical at their ages.

Kianna was introduced to Snow Cones and Cotton Candy. She thought this was fantastic and I'm sure we will be buying more in the future!

BROWNIE CEREMONY.... on Tuesday afternoon, Caeline's Girl Scout Troop had their Investiture / Rededication Ceremony.

They performed a play called "A New Batch Of Brownies". They mixed a large bowl of ingredients that are traits that a Brownie should have. After "Baking" it, out popped the two new Brownies. It was cute and the girls had so much fun.

Caeline was so excited and loves being a Brownie.

SIX YEARS AGO TODAY... I was in China and was introduced to a wonderful little girl named Zhang Xi Ru.
In November I had received this match picture. Finally Aunt Pam and I traveled to Hefei and got to meet her.

Getting to know her in China was such a wonderful experience and she became a part of our family instantly. Caeline came into our family at the perfect time and has been an such a joy to all of us. She has such a sweet, caring spirit and I am so glad she is my daughter. Once I finished all the paper work; I took Caeli back to the room. She was only 11 1/2 months old and was so small. We fed her and played with her and fell in love with her.

The last day in China we went to the American Consulate. Caeli was so serious during the swearing in ceremony and once we had her visa we headed home.

The years have passed so quickly and she is growing up so fast. I love you KK. Happy Anniversary Sweetie.

JUMP, DANCE CONVENTION... The Dance Company attended a dance workshop held in downtown Phoenix this weekend. Mariah went with friends on Friday afternoon and watched some of her friends compete. Her classes started at 7:15 am Saturday and went until 3:30 in the afternoon. She had classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Hip Hop.
We joined her on Saturday afternoon in time to see her group compete. One of the girls was out of town and Mariah had to take over her part. she did a fabulous job (Despite being very nervous). Her group danced the best I have ever seen and received a high silver award.

We checked into the Hyatt hotel and the girls loved riding in the glass elevator and just being on "Vacation". We had dinner at The Hard Rock Cafe and had a great evening.

Mariah was back for another full day of classes on Sunday. We met her at the lunch break and a group went out to lunch. The afternoon and show were devoted to an 80's theme and the girls all had fun creating costumes.

Mariah and her friends enjoy the workshop, but all went home very tired!

OUR NEW SWING SET ... This is Mariah. We got a new swing set for Christmas. They put it up last week and we couldn't go on for 3 days. We can finally swing. We love it.

Kianna loves to swing. She tried to kick me and laughs and laughs.

I climbed up on top and couldn't get down. I was scared, but Mommy told me how to move to the end and climb down.

UNCLE KEITH... sent Kianna this T-shirt for Christmas. It says "Somebody in Hampton, VA loves me". She loves the shirt and every time she wears it she says "I love Cookie" (which is what she calls Uncle Keith.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!... We went to Olive Garden for dinner and then came home and played games. Kianna fell asleep around 10:00, but Mariah and Caeline were enjoying the night. They woke Kianna up just before midnight and she quickly got into the party. The New Year had a lot of horn tooting and spraying silly string. The girls had so much fun! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU.
