ZOO LIGHTS... One of our favorite holiday events is ZooLights at the Phoenix Zoo. Each evening there are over 2.5 million lights twinkling around the zoo. They have animated lights of many different zoo animals. The girls favorite was 20 penguins playing (one was riding a skateboard). We also liked the jumping frogs, elephants spraying water and the monkeys swinging in the trees. Mariah and Caeline got to touch Stingray in a new exhibit that recently opened. It was cold out and fun to drink hot chocolate, and walk around listening to Christmas music. Kianna rode in her stroller and loved all the lights.

CHRISTMAS FUN... Last evening we went to McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. The girls loved all the characters walking around. They got to see Pooh Bear, Blues Clues, Buzz & Woody, Cookie Monster, Elmo and Sponge Bob. Kianna was scared and didn't want her picture taken with the characters, but loved sticking her head in cutouts and laughing. We all rode the train around the park. There are hundreds of thousands of lights and it is so beautiful. They also went on the carousel. They got to ride on horses behind Pooh and Cookie Monster. Blues Clues took a nap on the bench behind them and Mariah had to wake him up to get off the ride. They girls had so much fun!

SANTA BABY... Kianna is enjoying Christmas so much. She is learning new English words every day. She understands that her doll is a "baby" and I call her "my baby". She has definitely figured out who Santa is! The other night she spotted a Santa hat and put it on. She smiled the biggest smile and said "Santa Baby" and laughed and laughed. We love her so much and she is so much fun.

OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY... We had our annual Christmas party last night. 38 Children (and 33 adults) were thrilled when Santa arrived. Everyone opened gifts, sang songs and played. It is my favorite party of the year. Kianna loved it all. She had been afraid of Santa in the Mall, but went up to get her gift (with Mariah) and loved running all over. She ate everything she could get her hands on and was exhausted when it ended.

DANCE COMPANY... Mariah and Caeline love being in dance company. They performed in a show at a local nursing home on Saturday. They were great! The PEARLS, Caeline's group performed "HEY MIKEY' and the RUBIES, Mariah's group performed "ONE WAY OR ANOTHER'. They both had so much fun.

FLAT STANLEY RETURNS.. Caeline's Kindergarten class read a book a few weeks ago called "Flat Stanley". It was about a flat boy who travels all over the world. Each child created their own Flat Stanley and sent it to someone to visit. Caeline was so excited when Flat Stanley arrived back at her school this week. He had visited Cousin Laura in San Jose. He had a wonderful time spending Thanksgiving at her house. She sent back pictures that all Caeline's friends got to see. Caeline was so excited when she came home and told us. Thank you Laura!

This was Kianna's first party and she loved all the music, yummy food and meeting Santa. It is always a high point of the holiday season.
