Thanksgiving 2017

My dear friend Kiki joined us for Thanksgiving dinner again this year.  My sister Pam worked and missed dinner with the family.
Dinner was delicious and then we got ready for black Friday shopping.

USA Regionals

On November 18th the Spiritline at Horizon competed at the USA Regionals. The Pom squad came in Regional 1st place champions and quialified for Nationals in Anaheim in February.

The Grand Canyon

The girls had off the Friday before Veternan's day, and we decided to get away for the weekend.
We headed north to the Grand Canyon. We stayed in a cute cabin and spent the weekend exploring the area.
On Saturday morning we took th Desert View Tour. It covered 52 miles and was beautiful. It stopped at many spots and we got out and hiked the area. One of the stops was at the Watchtower.
The tower is 70 feet tall and we climbed to the top . The view was amazing.
We had fun hiking, exploring, and fooling around.

The tour lasted over four hours and we were so glad that we got to see so many beautiful areas.
We rested a short time and then headed to the Bright Angel Trail. The sunset was beautiful.
It was freezing at night. Saturday night it was 23 degrees.
On Sunday we headed home, reluctently. Time to get ready for school and work.

Pumpkin Time

As the girls get older, we no longer do many of the fun Halloween activities.
I am so glad that they still want to carve pumpkins and enjoy it.
They choose fun patterns and I love when they are finished!

Alzheimer's Walk

On Saturday, October 14th we took part in the Alzheimer's Walk in Sun City. It was a beautiful day.
We try to walk every year.
 in memory of my mother.

How can it be....?

How can it possibly be 11 years since Kianna joined our family? I remember meeting her (and it seems like yesterday) and yet it feels like she has always been my youngest daughter.
We celebrated with dinner at Oregano's.

I love you more each year Kianna!

Football, Football, Football

Football has taken over since school started.

Caeli has games each week and we go to all the home games. The Huskies record is 7 wins and 1 loss.

Football season starts early in Arizona.
Caeline is having so much fun on Pom this year.
They have a great group of girls
The first two games were away games. Kianna and I went to the second game. The first was in Yuma and the squad had a 3 1/2 hour bus ride to get there.
They won the first and lost the second. First home game is next Friday.

Summer Fun!

This summer has been long and hot. The girls are enjoying time of from school. They needed the break and a chance to relax. I can't believe that school starts in two weeks.

Kianna was invited to a friends cabin in Pine, Arizona. It was cooler and near a lake. The girls had fun in their kayak.
We missed her, but she had so much fun.
Caeli had Pom the month of June. They had water day to keep wet and cool while learning new drills.
Caeli went to cheer/pom camp for four days. They stay at a hotel and learn new drills.
They are judged on their routines and awarded ribbons.
A few girls from each group are picked to move to another level and compete against girls from other schools.
Caeli won for the group she was in.

Caeli aslo went to California with her friend and her family.
Caeli and Madi had a wonderful time.
They spent the days at Huntington Beach and hated coming back to the hear.
